Our Yarn-Felt-Loom Blog brings you new ways

of working creatively with yarn. As the means to construct

yarn art, mesh work fabrics, felted woven fabric forms & custom

made fashions, we use a loom base innovation, we call the "Loom Template Construction System", which comprises interlocking modules made in EVA materials; and for our creative purposes, we call the modules "loom blocks". When we texturize a loom base, these interlocking modules are suitable for making-up felted woven fabric forms. We call these re-functioned modules a, "felting loom system", when used for this felted woven purpose. The interlocking modules come in varying sizes; and

have varying interlocking peg sizes; and the EVA materials, make these modules flexible, light weight; and very easy to maneuver and customize. The fully illustrated mesh work construction methods and instructions,

as described within our six part eBook series, are fun and easy to learn. The interlocking modules are most often not too expensive to buy from hardware, department or even children's toy stores, or online. The loom

block modules can be hand held and used individually on your knee,

or used in creatively configured arrangements on a table top, when

a number of the modular units are interlocked & assembled

together, or used as customized loom block modules

within a custom designed loom template shape.

A "shape-it-to-then-make-it", concept!

Some larger loom base templates can also be worked

on vertically, (certain conditions apply here, which can be

found in Volume One).

MESH WORK MAKING

Yarn Felt Loom -
About the Mesh Work Making eBook Series:

Mesh Work Making is an innovative hand craft, which enables new ways of working creatively with yarn, using our loom template construction system. Our mesh work making series comprises six volumes.

Volume One, "Creating Mesh Work Fabrics & Fashions"; and the, "Instruction Guide", Volume Six, are both available now for instant downloads! These two volumes provide fully illustrated introductions and instructions for how to construct mesh work. (See link).

Our loom base invention provides the means for a craft artist to use yarn to construct creative fabric forms into soft household items, like lap rugs or wall art, for example; and a large range of fashion styles. Fashion projects can be made-up for any time of the year, depending on which yarn type & content thickness you might employ, such as cotton or wool types, in your favourite colours. We used all kinds of yarn types to make up the mesh work projects displayed throughout this six part series.

Mesh work yarn art generally has an open weave style of

infra-structure, varying from square grid form patterning's, to free form, lacy type patterning's. Mesh work fabric can be made-up quite rapidly, compared to crochet or knitting construction methods. For example, a free size crop top, starter project found in volume one, can be made-up in just one day.

As mentioned above, to construct our yarn art and mesh work projects we use interlocking modules, re-functionalized as, "loom block modules", which come in varying sizes. The modules can also have varying interlocking peg sizes, extending from each module's perimeter edge. The modules are usually inexpensive, light weight, flexible and very easy to use; and are usually readily available in some form, either online, or from hardware, department or toy stores.

An interlocking module can be used individually, as a hand-held loom block on your knee, or the modules can be used on a table top when interlocked and assembled together, to form a larger, assembled loom base structure. These loom base structures can be assembled to form different creative arrangements, in a variety of sizes and shapes, all as designed. This means that your completed yarn art or mesh work fashion projects will all become whatever size your 3D foundation loom base size might be, a "shape-and-then-make", concept! A larger assembled, loom structure can also be worked on in a vertical position. (But conditions apply here, as shown in Volume One).

The EVA Loom block modules can also be customized to form virtually any size or shape, or created from scratch, as desired. This means that you can design your own yarn art projects to any size or shape that you desire. To learn our loom template customizing and modifying techniques, you can now download Volume Two and Volume Three, both in eBook form, from:

www.meshworkfashioncraft.com

These methods enable many creative possibilities for yarn art & mesh work fabric & fashion construction.

The Volume Four eBook can now be downloaded from the www.meshworkfashioncraft.com

website, in which you'll find how to convert a loom base structure to a texturized "felting loom system"; and how to make your own texturized rolling tools, suitable for felt making. By including wool rovings and felting with the mesh work making methods, beautiful felted woven fabric forms, or gorgeous winter fashion styles and fibre art, can be made-up. We decided call our felted woven fabric forms, "Felt-O-Luxxe", because of the luxurious textural qualities these wonderful winter fabrics can achieve. Because of the felting component, these creative methods will take longer to carry out. Completed fabric forms are well suited to a great variety of creative finishes, varying from open weave looks to more solid fabric infra-structures, or for further decorative embellishments.

Volume Five, is an eBook all about yarn art colouring methods; and shows creatives how to hand paint mesh work projects, when using cotton, wool or silk yarn within a yarn art construction. These methods can be carried out topically, whilst your yarn art projects are still re-moveably attached to your loom base - a little like silk painting, for those who enjoy decorative surface techniques and applying dye colorants. So for a supreme colouring experience, get your colour wheels out for this one & enjoy the ride! This eBook is now also available for instant download, from our eBook website: www.meshworkfashioncraft.com

The, "Instruction Guide", Volume Six, is a mesh work making companion; & introduces the yarn artist to the loom base equipment & loom base specifications, which will assist with assessing and estimating project sizes. This eBook illustrates step-by-step,  how to carry out mesh work making methods, such as the easy yarn stringing methods; & has stringing sequences, stabilizing stitches & finishing off methods. This last volume in the series also provides information about where to obtain the loom base equipment, to actually purchase the interlocking loom block modules that we like to employ for mesh work making. You'll also find loom template diagrams included in this volume, which can give you an idea and direction for our construction concepts when making-up various clothing styles in mesh work using yarn!
